Franking Machines

Archived in the category: Business

If like myself, you send out a lot of letters, you might have been spending more money per envelope than you really needed to. I regulary send out cheques and small items of mail now my main problem was that I have two shops near to me, but the post office is a distance away. Now one shop would have run out of stamps, and the other wouldn’t sell a stamp seperate so in the end I would have to purchase more stamps than I needed.

This isn’t too bad but I would use them in the end anyway, now I have had times that I haven’t had any stamps and have had to send out 50 to 100 cheques at the end of the month sadly the local shops do not hold that amount of stock, and so I found myself having to jump in the car, drive down to the local post office, drive all the way back and then put stamps on the envelopes.

Ok when it’s summer I do not mind this, but apart from a couple of months in 2007, we had nothing but rain and flooding and I was fed up getting soaked. In Winter it is even worse, you either get wet and freezing cold, or dry and freezing cold.

I found a company called Pitney Bowes which offered a free 30 day trial, and was offered rental for about £18.00 a month if I wanted to lease the machine after the trial had ended. I was given £20.00 worth of free postage which was a bonus, and a free logo. If you use the franking machine enough, then the saving between the rental of the machine and the postage reasonably equals itself out, you have approx a 11% saving between stamps and a franking machine so the more letters you send the more you save.
