Today see’s the day that over 104 years of history has been destroyed by fire. Today see’s the day that 37 years of my past dead within a few hours.

Weston super Mares main attraction was the Grand Pier, I hope that for the towns sake this is rebuilt quickly.

If this is arson, I hope that the people involved go down for life.

The Gift Of Life

Archived in the category: Personal Views

Today saw the joy and pain of fatherhood, but without being an actual father. Like an episode of Corrie, a friends daughter in law could not feel her baby kicking.

Since 11am things was on alert to goto the maternity hospital to go for a scan. As we had all watched the Liam Connor storyline of loseing the baby, that was in the back of our minds and in some respects the worse was thought of, before knowing that the baby was fine.

After a long wait despite them being told of the circumstances a cubicle was finally made ready, again small talk was made and deep down things were in the back of everyones minds.

Finally after an even longer wait of answering questions and forms being filled out, the jelly was placed on the baby monitor.

Suddenly a strong heartbeat was heard and a huge sigh of relief as this gift of life even though not a strong kicker, but she was there, still waiting too come out in three months time.

It is a very humbling feeling to hear a baby’s heartbeat inside of the womb, and who ever is up there, thank you.

Dealing with death

Archived in the category: Memorials, Personal Views

I thought that I would write this, incase someone is copeing with a loss, either a human being or an animal. I have seen a lot of relatives die of cancer or old age and I honestly never thought that death would hit me so hard again but.

Upon haveing to play God with my dogs life and having him put to sleep, as he was reasonably the only family that I had left that cared for me, and I cared for him, things are harder than when I said goodbye to my nan.

With a human being, they can say that they want to go, that they are tired, but with an animal, sadly they cannot. My dogs heart was beating about 200 beats per minute, with a low pulse and with white gums, the vet advised for him to be put to sleep now, otherwise he would die a horrible chokeing death before having a heart attack.

Hearing this, my mind shut off, because I did not want to hear this, and I certainly did not want him to go like this. The month of May had already seen one loved one pass away, my nan, and when she passed away she seemed to be at peace.

Having Murphy put to sleep was different though, I knew that the end had to come at some point, and I had always thought that it would come before it did, but I gave him a fighting chance and he pulled through the first time, this time, I thought that maybe it was time for him to go.

After a time agonising over what was best for him, as soon as I said ok do it, I had to walk out, at the time, that was what I thought was best for me, as I could not see my friend being put too sleep, but in some respects, I think that he knew that it was his time as well.

When she had brought him back in, she uncovered the towel that he was wrapped in, and his limp body was there and his eyes was open, I could not cope with that and told her to cover him over.

She asked me if she wanted her to carry him to the car but I said no thanks, that I would do it. The most shocking thing was because you are so used to picking up a dog and he has strength in his body, this time though it was like carrying a dead chicken, where it’s head flops to one side.

This was scarey enough to carry him to the car, upon getting him home, he was laid in his basket and covered in his blanket, but not fully covered, a resting place was dug for him and he was wrapped in his blanket, his lead and a cuddly toy was placed in his grave so that if there is an after life, then I hope that we will be together once more.

Being able to see where he is burried is a good and a bad thing, at first it was good to be able to go out and sit with him, and talk to him, but as soon as the bad weather hit, and it started raining my inital thoughts was thats my friend, my child, my baby in the ground and I wanted to go out and cover his grave and not to let him get wet, other feelings have been of buying a tupperware box thing, and putting his body in there, but then that preserves him for such a time and what is the point of that.

I had thought for a long while about having him stuffed, but then you think that his chest gets cut open, his organs gets removed, he gets stuffed and bang he is there all the time and that is not really how you want to remember your beloved pet.

I miss putting on my shoes or jacket, and bang he was at the door wanting to go out, or the fact that I could walk him off his lead and hear his footsteps behind me plodding along. Inital reactions are looking back when walking, or when someone is coming to the door, to step up to hold him back so he does not attack someone whom comes through the door.

Having been around dogs for 38 years of my life, these 13 years of his and my life, have been the most intense that I have ever had with an animal, before hand it was a family dog, but he became my own and trying to get used to not having to depend upon him, or him depend upon me is a big thing.

Part of me wants to get another dog to replace that needing, to be loved and to give love to someone who depends upon you, but in other aspects I have not had a holiday since I was 14 years of age, not a proper one, and certainly not the past thirteen years as I felt guilty about kennels and had no one too look after him, even leaving him for a few hours was too much sometimes.

Like all deaths, in time things pass by and you get used to the fact that someone is gone, but I never find that tea and sympathy does any good, and sometimes loseing a defenless animal, is more heart wrenching than loseing a human being from cancer.

Times like these though, you hope that their is an after life and that you do end up seeing your loved ones again.

Kylie Minogue Vs Leona Lewis

Archived in the category: News, Personal Views

Ok so I am sick and tired of reading about Leona Lewis success in America. I am a big fan of Leona’s well I like her music and style, but both ladies are different in many ways.

Kylie is white and Leona is black, the American market prefers black female singers, especially ones who can match Whitney Houston and a few others.

Kylie bless her cotton socks, is not particually the best singer in the World, she had a hit when she was in Neighbours, and we was in love with her, the song was a classic and it was given the Peter Waterman make over and it went to the top of the charts in a lot of Countries where Neighbours was showing.

The version of the song wasn’t particually excellent, but it was a party song, rather than a diva such as Leona.

Simon Cowell is not a fool, and he knows that Leona is one hundred times better than Kylie ever was or is, even though he probaly has not got the guts to say that in public, or private, especially in the Minogue camp.

Leona’s success is part because she is black, and part that she can actually sing. I personally hope that Leona is around for a fair few years to come, but changes her style on  her next album, so that it is not all ballards, she has proven that with her dance mix of Bleeding Love, that she can push the envelope to be a disco queen as well as a ballard queen, and she should be a mixture of both on her next album.

America loves black women who can sing, there are only a few English (British) people that they take to their hearts, and Leona is one of them.

Speaking from experience of playing spades against them, they admire Ricky Hatton, David Beckham (well almost) and that is reasonably it, they are a very racist race towards, the English and whenever you are on mic, they always mention James Bond or Harry Potter, or not forgetting the second World war in which they saved our backsides, but hello you didn’t want to know until you got your arses kicked at Pearl Harbour.

Anyway Leona is black and a diva and that is why she is so popular in the states at the moment.

Easter Bank Holiday Weekend

Archived in the category: Personal Views

Well it is now friday and day six and one of my few bank holidays outside of Weston. The weather is topsy turvy with wind, rain and now a bit of sunshine, but still cold.

What a disgusting bank holiday weekend, this has turned out to be so far. As a kid was always a case of Easter bank holiday was 9/10 sunny and would be frustrated by the amount of tourist makers causing traffic jams trying to get to the beach.

Now would be more like traffic jams to the airport and causing the green house gasses that is destroying our bank holidays and giving us even more rubbish weather than we have ever seen in Great Britain.

Who knows maybe this is the start of a long road to another Ice Age our weather pattern seems to be dominanted from the USA and Russia nowadays, rather than in the 70’s when it was usually coming from the South and we was having Indian summers.

Freedom

Archived in the category: Personal Views

Well it is now day four since I left Weston and so far it is the best thing that I have ever done. I spent an hour and bit just walking around the shops, and yet in Weston I would have been straight in and back. I tried a different chinese dish, rather than the curry and rice which I normally would have ordered. I spent an enjoyable evening watching a womans darts match which was made more enjoyable when there were bounce outs and this one tasty female, bent over without modesty and boy what a backside she had on her lol.

I popped back to do some more shopping this morning, and I might go out friday night, but then I have a charity casino night to go to on the Saturday and then a 21st birthday party on the Sunday.

Last night standing outside of the pub I felt a sense of freedom that I hadn’t felt in Weston for a hell of a long time, and I was relaxed had too much to drink though but hell was a damm good night.

Are UFO’s from Earth?

Archived in the category: Personal Views

I have reasonably had a fascination for UFO’s, ET’s etc for many years, since before about 1990 when I read a lot of consipracy therories. A lot of them have added up over the years, so if for example, I said

I am going to win the lottery with 01,02,03,04,05,06 as it’s going to be rigged to give those numbers.

At first you might think, ok thats never going to happen and the guy is a nutcase, but then if it does happen, people will either believe it or just say a conicedence.

This post has been down to watching Star Trek, The Next Generation series 7, and an episode entitled Genesis in which the crew of the enterprise go back into evolution and turn into cavemen.

Now according to scienists, their skulls were bigger, and the brains smaller, but as we have evolved then our heads have shrunk, our brain matter has increased, but we still currently only use about 1/3rd of our brain.

If we are preprogrammed and during evolution our brain becomes more and more unlocked, if the human race, does make it past the next hundred years, are UFO’s simply evolved earthlings from the future that visit our past?

Scientist’s or some closed minded ones, believe that because we cannot do something, then an alien race far superior to ours, cannot go faster than the speed of light or even faster. Albert Einstien, Stephen Hawking to name a couple. In respects when the train and the motor car was first thought of, people said that if we travel more than 15 miles an hour (approx) then our brains would go back into the back of our heads because we was travelling so fast and now we have bullet trains that travel more than 150 miles per hour.

Maybe the truth is out there?

Time for the death penalty

Archived in the category: Personal Views

Tonight’s news see’s the report of an old lady being tortured and murdered for her pin code. Other news follows the disapearence of Shannon.

When is the Government, either Labour, Conservative, or Lib Dem going to get a back bone, stop listening to bleeding heart liberals, and bring back the death penalty?

A 75 year old woman, helped with the war effort during World War 2 because of freedom, against the oppression of Hitler, and yet we see old ladies and gentleman being beaten in the streets, in their homes and children snatched from the streets.

Is this really why so many scarificed their lives for, so that old age pensioners can be beaten and raped in their own homes? Is this what they scarificied thier lives for so that children can be taken off our streets, or that gangs of children can terrorise others?

It is about time politicians stopped spending so much time debating and lording it up taking back handers, and a more hardline approach being taken.

If you take someones life away from them in a criminal act, for example, someone pulls a knife out on someone and stabs them for a wallet, then why shouldn’t they be put to sleep and save on the expensive cost of keeping them in prison?

It cost’s more per month to keep a person who murders an old age pensioner, than the old age pensioner recieves in benefits.

Although I am not a member of the British National Party, but I honestly am starting to sway to their political views, provided that they are done in a logical and sensible manner.

People died to protect this country against terror, and yet the sacrifice they made has gone unheard and the political correct brigade have taken over and discipline has gone out of the window, and this is going to get worse as decades roll on.

Let’s bring back corporal punishment and the death penalty, lets have stocks at the end of our High Streets, lets put the thieves and minor criminals into the stocks, and let the victims throw rotten fruit or wet sponges at the criminal.

Either give people the choice of throwing stuff for free, or charge them a small fee and then give that to the victim as compensation.
