UK2.net Axed

Archived in the category: Webhosting, Websites

Despite our expected change to UK2.net we have cancelled them twice. We first paid for a dedicated server for three months, but did not purchase the c panel to which we had to use the SSH functions, sadly we could not get 100% results with this.

We then asked regarding the c panel, but we got told that we would have to pay for three months useage, rather than the month that was needed to see if the hosting was any good, we then said no. we didnt want to pay for three months, so cancelled and then ordered one months worth of hosting and cpanel.

The first time, we got a full refund, but second time we shall come onto in a moment.

Having ordered a second dedicated server with c-panel, we ordered a new domain name for testing, this domain name go registered under UK2.net at their billing address rather than ours, so if that domain name took massive hits per day, then they could have turned it off, and claimed it to be their own website address.

As we could not use the domain name or server, we decided to cancel to much hassle the second time. A refund was made but this was only for £97.00 odd rather than the £207 that we originally paid. We know that they say that once a server is in place then they do not issue refunds for the work done on that server, but come on guys, it is all automatic, you do not do anything.

So £100 down, no work done with UK2.net but we thought that we would share our experience with this company and although we are fed up with 1&1, we would recomend 1&1 over UK2.net anytime of the day or week.

uk2.net new webhosting

Archived in the category: Webhosting, Websites

After many years of using 1&1 webhosting, due to server errors the past four days, we have decided to change to an affordable, UK based webhosting company called UK2.net We are expecting some delays transferring domain names and databases across, but we are looking forward to the future with UK2.net.

We have decided to go with the bronze package which costs £59.00 per month, but with that we now have unlimited SSL certificates which cost £30.00 per year on one and one (1&1).

The domain names are around the same price at near enough £6.00 for two years which for the UK is very cheap domain registration.

Would we recomende 1&1 as a web host? If you are using a small website with no MYSQL databases, then for a very cheap set up, then it is ok, would we recomend it for a more professional affiliate, sadly no.

Despite one and one giving one hundred MYSQL databases, the dedicated server cannot handle the load and often goes down, so it has come a time in which to switch to a new server.

UK2.net have been chosen mainly due to price, as they have been found to be one of the cheapest UK webhosting companies around.

We are expecting some delays transferring domains across and also databases, so we thank you for your patience.
